The simple rectangular design of 5068 handrail complements the modern trends in stairways. With dimensions of 1-9/16" thick x 2-3/4" wide, it's a great balance of sturdiness without the bulk. The craftsman stair railing style also looks great when installed as a stand-alone handrail, immediately updating an ordinary staircase.
Hardwood Finishes
The Millwork Outlet has 5068 handrail available in Red Oak, Maple and Poplar. This is Fingerjoint hardwood which gives stair rails more character when stained. Dark or a natural stain looks great on the Red Oak and Maple handrail, while the fingerjoint Poplar can be stained to look like Maple or painted black or white. Additionally fingerjoint and edge glued hardwood stair railing is straighter than solid wood handrails and will have less warpage or bending over time. Depending on the home's other finishes, black, brass or nickell brackets can be used to complete the look. The flat bottom of the wood handrail profile makes installation a breeze.
