Ever since Chip and Joanna came on the scene, shiplap accent walls have taken the world by storm. Of course white was the go-to choice but, like the flowers of a magnolia tree, trends come and go. The pandemic led to a season of warmer, homier rooms and natural textures. As homes began to be divided up into home offices and school rooms, wall treatments began to mark where one part of an open concept gave way to another. And now bringing the outdoors in creates a respite from the outside world.
Following the trend, shiplap has evolved too, away from the stark white shiplap that dominated several years ago, into warm, rich tones. The rustic finish of our shiplap brings the texture of natural wood into the home to create interest and an organic feel. The color variation from light to dark within a wood shiplap wall creates movement.
For ease of install, our wood shiplap is 6' long and 4" wide made out of fingerjoint and edge glued Red Oak and fingerjoint Poplar. All of the finishes and species can be installed with or without a nickel gap with the boards that are 3/8" thick.
Our wood shiplap is available in 4 different options:
Farmhouse Brown: Our Farmhouse Brown stain on fingerjoint and edge glued Red Oak shiplap is a deep brown with a slight red undertone. A warmer color, Farmhouse Brown rustic shiplap shows less of the color variation in the underlying hardwood due to the darker color of the finish. A topcoat can be added for a glossy finish. 3/8" x 4" x 72" $84.99/Box |
|
Weathered Grey: Our Weathered Grey stain on fingerjoint Red Oak shiplap allows the warmth of the wood tone to come through while having a cooler gray finish. Because of the lighter tone of the stain, Weathered Grey shows more variation of the edge glued and fingerjointed Red Oak. A topcoat can be added for a glossy finish. 3/8" x 4" x 72" $84.99/Box |
|
Raw Red Oak: As shown by the finishes above, raw Red Oak shiplap can be stained, painted or finished to the color of your choosing. Or a matte or shiny topcoat can be applied to showcase the natural grain. Our raw Red Oak shiplap is fingerjointed and edge glued. 3/8" x 4" x 72" $74.99/Box |
|
Raw Poplar: Naturally a lighter wood with less grain, our Poplar shiplap is an ideal choice for paint, stain or whitewash. Our raw Poplar Shiplap is edge glued. 3/8" x 4" x 72" $74.99/Box |
As an added bonus, our rustic shiplap can be installed with or without power tools and does not require adhesive, leaving little damage to existing walls. And making it easy to create a DIY shiplap wall or accent in your home. Click here for pricing and availability!
