Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What kind of hardwood is your shiplap constructed?

Our primed nickel gap shiplap is made from fingerjointed Poplar which is the professional painter's choice of wood because of its grain pattern and durability.

  • What is the best way to arrange joints, if the wall to be clad is longer than the 6' board length? Should the boards be butted up tightly to each other or should a gap be left?

For any of our shiplap paneling, there are a couple of options to arrange the joints. Some people prefer an intentional 2-4" gap between boards which can be used as a design element or even to hang a shelf in. If you are not wanting the gap or joint to be seen, we would recommend butting the shiplap panels together and staggering the joints along the wall. Then the joints between shiplap panels aren't all at the same spot along the wall, creating a potential line. Once the joints are caulked and painted, they should not be noticeable.

  • Can this shiplap be painted a different color and adhere nicely?

Yes, this shiplap is primed not painted so is ready for any color of paint. We would recommend a light sanding prior to applying paint especially after shipping. Thank you! ~Monica

  • CAN THIS Primed White Nickel Gap Shiplap, be installed vertically?

Yes, all of our shiplap can be installed vertically, horizontally or even angled or using various patterns like herringbone. Thank you for reaching out! ~Monica
